In noncommercial public television, programming can be underwritten or sponsored by local businesses and individuals through financial support. This type of sponsorship, known as underwriting, is a unique and effective alternative to commercial advertising.

How Underwriting Works

When you choose to underwrite programming on Tahoe Truckee Media (TTM), you make a tax-deductible contribution to support the station. In return, TTM creates a video “thank you” that features your business on air. Additionally, your business will be listed on TTM’s website, giving you extended visibility.

Underwriting with TTM is more than just a promotional opportunity; it's a way to give back to the community and reinforce your business’s role as a community partner.

Underwriting on an “annual plan” provides your organization with a customized 30 second video to be aired a minimum of three times weekly (one prime time play PLUS two plays during daytime hours) on both Channel 6 and 18. Your spot will also be available as streaming media, hosted by the TTCTV website.

• $1000 Annual (paid in full)
• $275 Quarterly (4 times per year)
• $100 Monthly

Underwriting  a selecte program entitles you to receive a verbal “Thank You” at the beginning and end of a program of your choosing. You will also receive on-screen credit that includes your business and contact information.

• $50 Monthly (3 month minimum required to start)

TTM offers the following courses to the public:

• Video Editing
• Studio Production
• Field Production
• Studio Directing

TTM provides live meeting coverage of:

• Town of Truckee Town Council and Planning Commission
• Truckee Donner Public Utility District Board
• Tahoe Truckee Unified School District Board
• Tahoe Forest Hospital District Board
• Truckee Tahoe Airport Board
• North Tahoe Community Alliance

TTM also produces telecasts of other community events, such as the 4th July Parade, Truckee and North Tahoe High School graduations, local election candidate forums, etc.
